Exam Details:
The PMI-ACP exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within three hours. The exam is computer-based and delivered through a Pearson VUE testing center. The cost of the exam varies based on PMI membership status, with non-members paying a higher fee. The passing score for the exam is determined through a psychometric analysis and is not disclosed by PMI.
It is recommended that candidates have at least 2,000 hours of general project experience and 1,500 hours of experience working on agile project teams, or an agile certification such as the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), before taking the PMI-ACP exam. Additionally, candidates must earn 21 contact hours of agile training before taking the exam. This training must be in addition to any other project management training already obtained.
During the exam, candidates will be tested on their knowledge of agile principles and practices as they relate to the domains listed above. The exam will include questions on various agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Extreme Programming (XP). Candidates will also be tested on their understanding of agile values, principles, and practices, as well as their ability to apply agile concepts to real-world scenarios.
After passing the exam, candidates must earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) every three years to maintain their PMI-ACP certification.
